Our Approach
Sustainability
Sustainability is a big driver in Bersatu’s corporate legacy. On average, logistics costs for Malaysia vary around 10-15% of total gross domestic product (GDP). This magnitude of this cost is set to grow even larger in a developing economy, which in turn creates higher greenhouse gas emissions and contributes towards global warming.
We understand the severity of the situation and have done our part to mitigate and reduce our carbon footprint to combat climate change. We believe that every little counts and we are putting in our resources for a better future.
Rainwater Harvesting
The demand for water is continuously increasing, and groundwater is being depleted. By taking advantage of our vast warehouse roof area, we collect rainwater from our rooftops to be stored and later used for watering our landscape. Our buildings are specifically designed to harvest and store rainwater for landscape irrigation purposes, significantly reducing our overall water consumption.
Green Buildings
Bersatu is proud to have its warehouse certified by the Green Building Index (GBI) committee as a green building. Our warehouse focuses on increasing the efficiency of resource use – energy, water, and materials – while reducing building impact on human health and the environment during the building’s lifecycle, through better siting. design, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal. We are amongst the few GBI certified warehouses in the whole of Malaysia, setting the pathway for others in our industry to follow.
Solar Power Generation
When fossil fuels are burned to create energy, they also emit harmful gases that are not great for the environment. This contributed to a rise in air pollution and global warming.
To reduce our carbon footprint, we have installed 210kWp of solar panels to harness the power of the Sun. This saves roughly 186, 183kg of CO2 emissions per year. We derive clean, pure energy from the sun to help combat greenhouse gas emissions and to further reduce our dependence on traditional fossil fuels.
Recycling
At Bersatu, we segregate and recycle whatever materials that would otherwise be thrown away as trash. This reduces the amount of waste sent to the landfills and combustion facilities, reducing carbon emissions and reducing the land needed for landfills.
Recycling also prevents unnecessary pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw materials and also conserves scarce natural resources such as timber and water. The whole process also saves energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions, helping to contribute to a sustainable environment for future generations.
Safety & Health Awareness
At Bersatu, the health and safety of our employees is a top priority. We organize annual nationwide Health and Safety Roadshows to ensure all our team members, regardless of location, receive comprehensive and up-to-date safety training.

We partner with Pusat Darah Negara (National Blood Center) to ensure the donated blood is professionally managed and reaches those in need. Our efforts have consistently resulted in an average collection of 50 liters of blood per drive.
